Older Honolulu homes: cast iron and clay sewer lines
Established neighborhoods like Manoa and Kaimuki have many older homes, and older homes often still have their original cast iron, clay or galvanized sewer lines. Pipes like these that are 30 or more years old are one of the signs a line may need attention, along with repeat backups, slow drains across several fixtures, foul smells, and tree roots near the sewer line.
When one of those lines cracks or lets roots in, the usual quote is to dig. Before you agree to that, get a camera inspection: we send a small camera through the pipe and you watch the footage with us. If the line can be restored from the inside, trenchless pipe lining can usually avoid tearing up your yard, driveway or floors. If it can’t, we’ll tell you honestly and walk you through excavation and repiping instead.
Condos, apartments and high-rises
A lot of Honolulu lives in shared buildings, where one drain line can serve several fixtures, or several units. One of our customers had a washing machine that shared a drain with two bathroom sinks and the kitchen sink; after a wash, water and debris backed up into all three.
We work with owners, tenants, property managers and building teams. Do you serve my Honolulu neighborhood?

I live in a condo. Can you work with my AOAO or property manager?
Yes. We coordinate with property managers and building teams, work around building rules and operating hours, and can provide service records, invoices and documentation for property management requirements.
My house has old cast iron pipes. Do I have to dig them up?
Not always. A camera inspection shows the condition of the line. If it can be relined, trenchless pipe lining restores it from the inside, usually through one small access point. If it can’t, we’ll tell you and explain the options.
